ATR is a competitive discretionary grant program funded by the Substance Abuseand Mental Health Services Administration's  Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (SAMHSA, CSAT) that will provide vouchers to clients for the purchase of substance abuse clinical treatment and recovery support services. Goals of the program are to expand capacity, support client choice, and increase the array of faith-based and community-based providers for clinical treatment and recovery support services. Cherokee Nation was awarded this grant in October, 2007. Assessments and voucher disbursement begins March 1, 2008.

 

Seven Assessment Sites spread out in the 22 counties that comprise the grant service area (Cherokee Nation, Creek Nation and Osage Nation's Tribal Jurisdictional Areas). The Assessment Sites will serve as a first point of contact for clients in need of treatment or recovery support services.  Assessment, treatment matching, and referral to a treatment provider is completed by an intake assessor.
